It Begins

My other half had prepared this for me while I was out with a friend. This is my first worm bin. After months of the rubbermaid container sitting on the floor in my office, he finally snatched it up and finished creating it for my birthday! Tomorrow we will be making a drive to go get the worms. My guy really knows how to warm his gardening girl’s heart.

Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day – November 2012

Mornings are frosty and there is a definite winter scent to the air. These next few weeks we will drain and put the rain barrels away, cut back perennials, rake out beds, and mulch the veggie garden beds with shredded fall leaves. Time to pack it up for the season. But that is another post (if I have time to make one). This post is for Bloom Day!

This month I had a moment to sneak out into the garden when there was frost still present on the Lot. It resulted in some really pretty photos. Take a look:

Back BedUnfortunately, the Lot overall leaves much to be desired as far as appearance. We are working at winter interest pieces, but we are not quite there yet. Here’s a bit of fading fall color. I also like the difference in textures.

We’ll be hunkering down soon and the Lot will be asleep for several months. Good thing I have May Dreams Gardens where I can admire other gardeners’ blooming treasures during the cold and snowy months ahead.
